Lynn Decker of Dream Weaver Farms was chosen as one of 200 trainers to compete in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge. She will be working with a wild horse (BLM mustang) which she has named Jimbo.
What is it???
An exciting competition in which Lynn will compete with 199 other trainers. She will have a little over 100 days to train the completely wild horse. Then Lynn will take Jimbo to Fort Worth, Texas for the competition in which the horses will be judged on conditioning, groundwork and a "Horse Course" similar to a trail riding class. Lynn Decker is the primary trainer. She has been around horses all her life and it has been a life long dream to be able to make a living with horses. She specializes in colt starting and problem solving, using natural horsemanship methods. She is devoting her life to understanding what true horsemanship is all about which included softness, feel, and a bond or unity that is established between you and your horse. This bond & unity establishes trust, which in turn establishes respect. Her goal is to spend time with the owners to make sure they leave with the knowledge & understanding of how to become a better horseman. Because this will inturn make a better horse.
We are located on 82 beautiful rolling acres in SW Virginia, convenient to the I-81 and I-77 Interchange. We think we have one of the finest horse facilities in the area. We have a 125X200 ft arena, a 50X80 indoor arena and a 50ft round pen. We have a new 10 stall barn under construction with a tack room, wash bay, tie posts and run outs. We have miles of dirt roads and riding trails in the woods.
Steve Decker is Lynn’s husband. He has only been involved with horses for about 4 years but he is a true natural. He is a contractor, so when he is not busy building a home for someone, he loves to ride and help around the barn when he can.
